About Irrawaddy Youth

1. Founding

The Irrawaddy Youth Organization is a non-profit organization established to elevate the role of young students within Myanmar society and to create educational opportunities for them.

It was founded on May 5, 2025, with the vision of becoming a guiding star for Myanmar's youth.

2. Structure Rules

To ensure the organization's long-term sustainability, the Irrawaddy Youth Constitution 2025 has been established and is being carefully revised to align with changing times and operational needs.

A dedicated Disciplinary Committee has been formed to ensure all members operate with responsibility and accountability by drafting and enforcing the code of conduct.

3. Vision & Mission

The organization's core mission is to open up barrier-free educational pathways for the next generation of youth under the motto "The World of Irrawaddy Youth - Where Knowledge Flows".

Goal 1: Elevating Educational Standards

Providing learning support, knowledge resources, and guidance across sectors to help raise the educational level of young people nationwide.

Goal 2: Volunteerism Without Profit

Acting from genuine goodwill, members contribute time, energy, and knowledge free of charge to education and community needs, committing to sustained volunteerism.

Goal 3: Developing Leadership Character

Nurturing leadership skills, a sense of accountability, and a willingness to serve the community, cultivating these qualities in every young member.

4. Current Situation & Challenges

As a newly established non-profit, the organization faces financial and budgetary constraints that limit capacity, yet the team continues making the best use of available resources for young students.

Despite limited experience, the organization sees its newness as a source of fresh ideas and active energy.

We Are Seeking

  • Partner organizations with shared goals for experience exchange and collaborative action.

Anyone who wishes to join the World of Irrawaddy Youth with knowledge, skill, and sincere goodwill is warmly welcomed.

5. Activities

Online Webinar

Three Systems, One Nation

First-ever online webinar comparing Myanmar's three parallel education systems:

  • Government Schools
  • Private Schools
  • International Schools

The webinar explored strengths and weaknesses of each system, featured guest speakers, and included active Q&A and discussion.

Technology Festival

Innovative Youth

Organized by the Science and Technology Club, giving students hands-on competition experience in:

  • Web Development
  • App Development
  • UI/UX Design
  • IT Project Management

Phases:

  • Training Week Nov 15-16: Orientation, ice-breaking, pitching technique.
  • Showcase Week Nov 22-23: Proposal presentation, project demo, pitching 8 PM.

All participants received Certificates of Participation. Awards included Winner, 2nd Runner-Up, 3rd Runner-Up, Best Collaboration, Most Active, and Audience Choice.

6. Upcoming Activities: May 05 Project

On May 5, 2026, Irrawaddy Youth will celebrate its 1st Anniversary with the May 05 Project.

On a single day, simultaneous events will be held across four major cities Mandalay, Yangon, Meiktila, and Myeik, focusing on children without shelter or guardians.

Support Provided

  • School books and stationery to support uninterrupted education.
  • Daily necessities and other essential supplies.

The project is both a gesture of care for children and a testament to the unity and sincere community commitment of Irrawaddy Youth.
